Under the guidance of CMA Singapore’s Master Trainer, Mr Tay Shy Ching, Ms Cheng Koon Kheng mastered the art of utilizing the abacus as an educational tool to enhance children’s cognitive abilities.

Guided by mentors Mr Tay Shy Ching and Ms Chen Ching, her teaching skills underwent continuous refinement. Ms. Cheng believes in tailoring her approach to each child’s uniqueness, emphasizing the effectiveness of proper guidance and teaching methods.

In 2013, Ms Cheng assumed the role of conducting CMA’s Certified Trainer Course. Her confidence in sharing CMA’s Dual-Hand abacus methodology grew through this experience. She emphasizes the importance of turning knowledge into skill and is eager to impart her CMA insights to children, fostering a strong foundation for future academic success.

Having had an early acquaintance with the abacus and mental arithmetic, Ms Chen Ching has established a strong mathematical foundation from a tender age and recognises its many developmental benefits. She holds a Masters Degree in Statistics from the Oklahoma State University (USA) and graduated with First Class Honours in Industrial Engineering and Management from Tung Hai University in Taiwan. The Kao Hsiung native was admitted as a lifetime member of National Statistical Honour Society in the States for her outstanding performance.

While studying in the US, Ms Chen Ching taught Mandarin at Stillwater Chinese Primary School in Oklahoma. She was highly popular amongst her students because of her affable personality and diligence in teaching.

Ms Chen Ching relocated to Singapore shortly after her marriage and was actively involved as a tutor and counsellor in student care and educational centres before setting up CMA Singapore with her husband, Mr Tay Shy Ching. She is currently the chief trainer of CMA Singapore.

A champion in Malaysia’s Mental Arithmetic National Competition at the age of 11 years old and an achiever of Dan 10 in the Mental Arithmetic Examinations, Ms Law Jing Ling’s experience and proficiency in abacus mental arithmetic is evident. Coupled with her love for teaching children, she hopes to develop and nurture a child’s interest in abacus.

Equipped with CMA’s unique set of teaching skills, she hopes to be able to impart her knowledge and experience to teachers and continue CMA’s teaching philosophy of creating great minds in the young.
